Photography is one of the great joys in life. It is the way that I am able to express myself to others. It is the gift that I have been given.
I have not been gifted with the traditional art forms of creation. Alas, mine is more subtle. It is the ability to see how light and shadow interacts on the world around me and then capture that on a recording media.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not an expert or a professional. I just take photos of the things I like and those that capture my attention or imagination. Sometimes I get lucky and capture an image that others find joy in as well.
One of the downsides of being knows as a photographer is those who believe it is the equipment that allows the photograph. They see people with the big cameras and big lenses and believe that they are a great photographer. To which I say “BUNK”!! Just like the adage, “it’s not the arrow, it’s the archer!” For example, I took the image above with my iPhone 3GS, not with my dSLR.
Lastly, as this blog continues, you will see more and more of my images. I will attempt to describe what I was seeing and feeling as I took the shot (I might even squeeze in some technical details for those interested). However, I will share in this blog a lot more of my thoughts along with illustrations from photos I have taken.
